Marathon Quilt Guild was formed in 1996 by Cindy Rymer and Joanne Brine, two Hopkinton quilters who wanted to establish a creative community for others interested in quilting.  Currently, the Guild is comprised of approximately 30 quilters whose work reflects all styles and methods of quilting and fiber arts.  Meetings are held at Faith Community Church, 146 East Main Street, Hopkinton, MA, on the second Tuesday of each month [September – June] at 6:30 pm.  Membership is $25/annually, and visitors are very welcome!

Guild Programs include featured speakers, local and national experts, as well as in-house expertise.  Quilt shows are held bi-annually at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts.  In addition to educating and inspiring its members, Marathon Quilt Guild has donated a tremendous number of quilts to the local community.  Large scale community projects like: The First Grade Quilt [decades-long annual fundraiser for the HPTA]; The New England Quilt Museum Quilted Holiday Train Village; the HCA Star Quilt [fundraiser for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts]; Quilt to Remember [Alzheimer’s Project]; the Heritage Quilt [fundraiser for the Hopkinton Public Library]; and Celebrating our Past, Embracing our Present, Inspiring our Future [commemorative quilt project for Hopkinton’s 300th Anniversary] are installed across the town and local community.  Hundreds of comfort quilts have been donated to local veterans, seniors, hospitals, women’s shelters, respite centers, animal shelters, schools, and dozens of other charitable organizations.
