It has been over 25 years since Cindy Rymer and Joanne Brine first brought us together in St. John's church to form our guild. We started out as a small group at St. John's church, then moved to the CAA until we outgrew that space as well.  We currently meet at the Faith Community Church (146 E. Main Street, Hopkinton, MA ), and continue to hold our meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

We have remained true to Joanne and Cindy's vision of a small group, averaging about 25 members per year.  Community service has remained an important focus of what we do.  From the original quilts we donated to the Respite Center during our first year, we have gone on to provide placemats for the Meals on Wheels program, quilts for at-risk children, disaster victims and each other.  We also donated 10 lap quilts to the Hopkinton Senior Center when they opened the doors to their new facility.

In honor of our 10th anniversary, we held our 4th biennial quilt show in May of 2007.  The show was a retrospective one, and to facilitate this, we invited both members and previous members to display their latest work.

We celebrated our 20th guild anniversary with a quilt challenge featuring the number 20. Interpretations were inventive and artistic. The quilts were then displayed at our biennial quilt show in September 2016. We also created a YouTube video encompassing the years of our shared friendship.

The Marathon Quilters Guild is a charitable and educational 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our EIN number is 81-5417594.
